Michael Lewis: “I’ve just been really, really lucky”

The 2012 Princeton commencement address by my favorite author Michael Lewis (“Liar’s Poker”, “Moneyball”, “Blind Side”, “The Big Short”, and many other excellent books and magazine articles – highly recommended).

Well worth reading by everybody, not just graduates. While I don’t completely agree that luck determines everything, it is definitely better to be lucky than good, as many coaches and players have admitted after a win.

I like the old saying: luck is the residue of opportunity and design.

In other words, you can put yourself in a better position to become lucky by making good decisions.
