Rupert Shortt on persecution of Christians around the world

It is generally accepted that many faith-based groups face discrimination or persecution to some degree. A far less widely grasped fact is that Christians are targeted more than any other body of believers. Exposing and combating the problem ought in my view to be political priorities across large areas of the world. That this is not the case tells us much about a questionable hierarchy of victimhood. The blind spot displayed by governments and other influential players is causing them to squander a broader opportunity. Religious freedom is the canary in the mine for human rights generally.

Remarks: Interesting that this continuing story flies under the radar, isn’t it? When Christians are persecuted for their faith, the Western media yawns, because they really do not care.

43 Percent Believe God Intervenes to Help Tebow – And I’m OK With That

I don’t happen to agree with the 43 percent that think God intervenes in sports events to help Tim Tebow, but it doesn’t really bother me, either. Does not affect me in any way, and I’m fine with it.

Who knows? Maybe He does intervene in sports events for true believers. I don’t pretend to have answers to unknowable questions, and actually find such mysteries very comforting. I don’t WANT to know everything. Some people do, though. To them, I would ask, does it really matter to you what others believe in order to get them through the night? If so, why? Because you think they’re wrong? Well, guess what, they think you’re wrong too!
