The Wonder of it All

Sometimes, if you’re having a bad day, maybe because your job sucks or maybe your whole life sucks, it may be instructive to listen to the wisdom of Stevie Wonder, circa 1970:

Doo doo,
Doo doo doo doo doo doo,
Doo doo-oo,
Doo doo doo.
– Stevie Wonder, “Never Had a Dream Come True”

This might sound like a smart-ass comment, but I surely don’t mean it that way: few people could sing the above silly lines, and still make you understand exactly what they mean, like Stevie Wonder could. Not just on this song, but on countless other classics from his later Motown years (late 60s, until about 1971). His work from this era is a serious contender for Most Under-Appreciated, in my mind.

So, a little tip: Stevie Wonder’s Greatest Hits Vol. 2.

You could find much worse ways to spend your money.
